Armed suspect leads police on foot chase, remains on the run in Mount Clemens

MOUNT CLEMENS — A suspect is on the run from police after he robbed someone who was walking to work Sunday morning.


Macomb County Sheriff Deputies responded to SB Gratiot and Inches Street shortly after 5:00 a.m. after a man called 911 stating that he was robbed. The caller also mentioned something about criminal sexual conduct to dispatchers.


Deputies arrived and located the suspect but he immediately took off on foot southbound on Gratiot before cutting northbound on Main Street, where deputies lost sight. 


A large perimeter was established in the area however a K9 track and drones were unable to locate the suspect.


Police recovered a knife and handgun as well as numerous other pieces of evidence during their search.


The suspect is described as a black male, with dreads, wearing a white shirt and dark-colored pants.


Clinton Township Police were also on scene providing assistance to the Sheriff’s Office.
