Man found stabbed several times at Clinton Twp home; Domestic related, police say

 UPDATED AT 10:00pm, JULY 5

CLINTON TWP — A man was found with at least five stab wounds on Wednesday evening (July 3) in Clinton Township, believed to have stemmed from a domestic incident with his girlfriend.

29-year-old Jennifer Marie Hayes was arrested by police and charged with assault with intent to murder and aggravated domestic violence. Her bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety only.

Around 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, Clinton Township Police responded to the 34000 block of Chope Place, near 15 Mile Road and Groesbeck Hwy, after someone found the man at his home wounded.

Officers arrived and cleared the home while providing medical aid until Clinton Township Firefighters arrived and rushed the man to McLaren Macomb Hospital as a trauma patient - his condition was very critical but he is expected to recover, according to police on Friday.

Police say that the man was coherent at the time they arrived, and that he was stabbed in the morning - at least five hours before he was found.

The man had stab wounds to the chest, abdomen, leg, and possibly other areas.

The Clinton Township Police Departments Crime Scene Unit was investigating the scene for more than 12 hours.

  1. While I dont doubt that CTFD was on scene, helping provide medical care, I can almost 100% guarantee it was NOT the Clinton Township Fire Department that rushed him to the hospital. More than likely (given the area of service) it was Medstar Ambulance. Either way, great job for all first responders working together to provide emergency care to those in need! Appreciate your service!
