BREAKING: Intoxicated driver kills two children, injuries several others after crashing into a building; Monroe County

 

BERLIN TWP — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a vehicle drove into a building this afternoon leaving two children dead, and at least a dozen other people injured.

The department says it responded to Swan Creek Boat Club around 3:00pm in Berlin Township, while the incident occurred during a childs birthday party.

First responders arrived and pronounced an 8-year-old female and a 5-year-old male deceased at the scene, both being siblings.

Three children and six adults were rushed to numerous area hospitals via ambulance and helicopter, with several other victims being privately conveyed to hospitals.

The driver of the vehicle, a female in her 60s, was arrested for DUI causing death and other charges.

The investigation into the tragic incident is still ongoing.
