DETROIT — Detroit Police responded to the area of Central Avenue and Dix Avenue on the cities SW side on reports of a vehicle collision.
Officers arrived on scene and determined a vehicle and train collided.
Multiple individuals were pronounced deceased on scene and several others have been transported in critical condition.
The train was able to stop after the collision. There is a large group of people at the scene of the crash, possibly because of a car meet or drag race going on at the time of the collision.
Michigan State Police is requested to the scene and the entire area will be closed off to the public due to an ongoing investigation.
