CLINTON TWP — A man is in custody after firing several shots while walking in the Knottingham Apartment Complex, near Iroquois Street and Wellington Drive, in Clinton Township.
Police started receiving numerous 911 calls of a man standing outside firing a gun early Tuesday morning, just around midnight. 911 callers said the man also made a homicidal statement.
Clinton Township Police Officers and Macomb County Sheriff Deputies arrived to the area and began working to locate the man, and luckily received assistance from security at the complex.
The male ended up entering a vehicle and leaving the complex, and police quickly converged in and were able to take the man into custody on a high-risk traffic stop.
The suspect ditched the firearm prior to leaving in the vehicle and police are working to locate it, however have recovered a bloody holster which is consistent with blood on the suspects hand.
