Eastpointe Police investigating after man shot in the chest at apartment complex

 


EASTPOINTE — The Eastpointe Police Department is investigating an isolated shooting that left one injured on Friday afternoon.


It started around 3:30 p.m. when SERESA Dispatch received a 911 call from the victim, reporting that he had been shot at the 15300 block of 9 Mile Road, west of Gratiot Avenue.


Police arrived and located the 59-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. Luckily, his injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.


A canine search of the immediate area for the suspect occurred but was unsuccessful. The suspect allegedly fled the area on foot.


Police remain at the scene processing evidence and anyone with information is urged to call the SERESA non-emergency line at 586-777-6700.
