Report of an active shooter at Mount Clemens school gathers large police response

 


MT. CLEMENS — Macomb County Sheriff Deputies are at Mount Clemens Middle School after a 911 call was received around 2:00 p.m. of a possible 'active shooter' inside of the building.


Deputies arrived at the school and learned that they were in a precautionary lockdown due to an incident at a school in the Clintondale School District.


A search of the campus yielded no evidence of any threats or intruders. The call came from either a student at the school or a students parent, following the lockdown.


Deputies cleared the middle school campus thoroughly to ensure that there was no active threats and the building was deemed safe after 2:30 p.m.


There is no information yet on the incident in the Clintondale District, but social media reports state that there was some sort of threat.


The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office remains at the school in Mount Clemens and are working to gather more details into the situation.
