MSP Bomb Squad assisting Sheriff’s Office in unknown incident; What we know

HARRISON TWP — The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad is on scene to an unknown situation in Harrison Township that began on Tuesday morning.

Macomb County Sheriff Deputies and Harrison Township Firefighters were dispatched to the 24000 block of Bradford Drive, near Joy Blvd. and I-94, around 9:30 a.m. for an incident that we have limited information on.

Deputies surrounded a home while telephone communications with a subject involved were attempted, leading to two subjects being detained shortly-after deputies made the scene.

The State Police Bomb Squad was then requested to the scene and remain at the scene, while the Harrison Township Fire Department has been cleared.

Dispatch audio obtained by Macomb County News and Scanner indicates that there may have been an explosives threat involving a vehicle parked near the home.

No further information is available and the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the situation.
