Early morning house fire in Roseville sends one to the hospital

 


ROSEVILLE — One person remains hospitalized after a Roseville house caught on fire early Friday morning.


Roseville Firefighters responded to the 18700 block of Rock Street, near 12 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue, around 3:20 a.m. for incoming calls of a residential structure fire.


Firefighters arrived to the house being heavily involved with flames and smoke leading to an offensive attack approach by crews while a primary search of the residence was conducted.


During the search, a man in his 70s was located and rescued from the home by firefighters, where he was taken to St. Johns Hospital (Main in Detroit) in cardiac arrest with several different injuries.


Another man and a dog were able to escape the home safely.


According to an unverified post on a local social media group, the fire may have started from a cigarette.


The Saint Clair Shores Fire Department assisted at the scene.


The investigation remains active and ongoing.
