WARREN — Warren Police have determined that no shots were ever fired at Warren Mott High Schools homecoming dance following calls of active gunfire.
The 911 calls started coming in Saturday night which resulted in Warren Police responding in full force.
“The Warren Police Department has reported to us that students began calling 911 when they heard balloons popping during the dance,” John Bernia, Superintendent of Warren Consolidated Schools, said in a statement.
“There have been reports this evening of shots fired, and injuries, including a police officer. There is no evidence any of these statements are true,” he continued.
The Warren Mott student crisis team will be prepared to support students when they return to school on Monday.
A reunification site was established at Beer Middle School, located at 3200 Martin Road.
There were no injuries of any kind reported at the school.
