Clinton Township Police investigating early morning homicide on July 4th

 


CLINTON TWP — A shooting early Thursday morning left a man dead in Clinton Township, and the investigation is still ongoing.


Shortly after 12:45 a.m., police responded to multiple calls of a man down with a gunshot wound at the Peachtree Apartments, at Weybridge Street and Little Mack Avenue.


Police arrived and located a man with a gunshot wound to the head, as well as bullet holes in at least one unit. Shell casings were also located at the scene.


Social media identified the victim as Jaret Mays, a father of several children. He is described as motivational and kind-hearted, while also a dedicated businessman who owned his own business.


Police didn’t indicate if any arrests were made and they spent a lot of time at the scene processing evidence and working to identify leads on the shooter.
