Shelby Township Police make arrest after vehicle targets pedestrians, crashes into taphouse

 


SHELBY TWP — Shelby Township Police are still investigating after a black pickup truck sped towards pedestrians before crashing into Johnny Blacks Taphouse, at 22 Mile and Schoenherr Roads.


It started when police received a large uptick in calls at 12:15am Thursday morning, where several callers reported that a truck crashed into numerous parked cars before striking the building. The driver left the scene on foot.

 




Police arrived to the scene and located the suspects truck, and at least eight other vehicles in the parking lot that the suspect struck in the reckless incident.


Police wasted no time in tracking down the alleged driver of the vehicle, with the help of the license plate on his truck that remained lodged between the Taphouse and victims vehicles.


Police were able to follow investigative leads that led to the arrest of the suspect. His identity has not been released.


The incident is still under investigation and there is no further information at this time.
