Stabbing in Eastpointe leaves two hospitalized; one in custody

 


EASTPOINTE — Two people are hospitalized, and several people were taken into custody after an altercation between a group of people in Eastpointe on Tuesday night.


Police responded to the 17000 block of Lincoln Avenue for the second time of the day, and were responding to a group of unruly people before learning that a stabbing had occurred.


Officers took a subject into custody and recovered the knife used in the attack as well as a magazine to a firearm - but officers were having trouble locating the firearm and who it belongs to. The firearm was never discharged during the altercation.


A male in his 40s suffered two stab wounds and was taken to St. Johns Hospital on Moross with serious injuries. Another woman also suffered two stab wounds and was subsequently transported to the same hospital.


Police are still investigating the stabbing and anybody with helpful information pertaining to the incident is urged to call Eastpointe Police.
