Suspects face gunfire after breaking into Warren home on Tuesday

WARREN — Warren Police are investigating a home invasion that led to at least one shot being fired by the homeowner on Tuesday night.

At approximately 8:26pm, officers were dispatched to multiple 911 calls of shots fired on Orchard east of Memphis.

Police quickly learned that a group of suspects attempted to break into the residence when the homeowner fired at least one shot at the suspects.

A vehicle description, containing the suspect(s), was obtained, and that vehicle was located by an officer on Sherwood, west of the residence, where it fled from police and ultimately crashed at 9 Mile and Memphis Roads.

A suspect fled from the vehicle and led police on a foot pursuit where he was quickly apprehended in the backyard of a home on Continental.

9 Mile Road is closed at Memphis Road at this time and evidence technicians are on scene.

The firearm used by the homeowner was recovered by police.

Nobody was injured by gunfire.

It’s unclear if any suspects are still on the run.
