RAY TWP — Around 3:45 PM, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on North Avenue near 27 Mile for a welfare check.
Deputies arrived at the scene and a woman ran from the home with injuries to the face. Dispatch audio indicates that she was struck by her husband and that a 3-year-old child was in the home, and possibly in danger.
The Macomb County SWAT team was activated and a barricaded scene began.
At approximately 5:15 PM, the SWAT team entered the residence and secured the child who was uninjured.
It was learned that the suspect fled from the home sometime since the incident began.
A large search was ongoing for the suspect and all roadways have reopened.
This is a developing situation.
