FORT GRATIOT — A suspect is dead after shooting at deputies in St. Clair County Tuesday evening, near Lakershore and Brace Roads.
At 8:00pm, deputies attempted to stop the suspects vehicle after realizing that he had a felony obstructing warrant out of MSP Lapeer Post.
The vehicle fled before quickly pulling over, when the driver exited the vehicle and ran on foot.
The suspect then began shooting at deputies, causing the deputies to take cover.
The suspect was then located in a nearby home resulting in a barricaded gunman situation that lasted until approximately 12:30am Wednesday.
Tactical units entered the home and located the suspect deceased inside of the bathroom.
The investigation remains ongoing and there is no threat to the public.
