SHELBY TWP — Around 6:55am on Saturday morning, Shelby Township Police and Fire Departments responded to River Bends Park for reports of a vehicle that was traveling at high rates of speeds in the parking lot before crashing into a porta john, and then a tree.
The 911 caller notified dispatch that nobody had gotten out of the vehicle and that the airbags had deployed.
Rescue crews arrived at the scene and had to extricate the driver from the vehicle before transporting them to Beaumont Hospital in an unknown condition.
Police remained on scene to investigate the crash for several hours, and have not released any further information regarding the drivers condition, or what possible factors have played into this crash.
