One injured, two in custody after CPL holder fires two dozen shots at house party in Eastpointe

EASTPOINTE — Around 1:30am on Monday morning, the Eastpointe Police Department responded to a home near the corner of Normandy Avenue and Norton Avenue in regards to a shooting.

Police arrived at the scene and located one male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Preliminary investigation from police indicates that the homeowner had believed that one of his watches was stolen, so he began to search the partygoers in an attempt to locate the watch.

A fight then broke out in front of the home, and a CPL holder discharged his firearm about a dozen times, striking a man, and several vehicles in the area.

Police have two people in custody, and have recovered the weapon(s) involved in the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.
