More than 130 dogs rescued in the Metro Detroit area following the states largest animal rescue operation

Bark Nation, a company that runs off of donations and moves to end animal cruelty, participated in a dogfight operation in the Metro Detroit area which resulted in more than 130 dogs being saved.

The operation used 66 responders as well as assistance from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, where they documented and seized dogs that were found living outdoors with minimal protection to the elements (cold weather), and those attached to heavy tow-style chains.

Many of the dogs that were rescued needed immediate treatment from illnesses and/or a list of injuries. Bark Nation also says that many of these dogs were underweight and thin.

This operation is expected to cost a total of over $74,261.82 in medical and rehab bills, which will be required before the pets can get back to a home.
