Bank Robbery suspect apprehended in Illinois

The Vermilion County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois has confirmed the arrest of 18-year-old Jacob Edwards.


1:00PM UPDATE: NEW BALTIMORE — New Baltimore Police responded to the Huntington Bank, located at Washington and Alfred Streets, Tuesday around 2:54pm for reports of a bank robbery.


When police arrived on scene, they learned that the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Jacob Robert Edwards, had fled the scene.


Edwards is described as a white male, thin build, light brown hair, 18 years of age, and he implied that he had a weapon during the robbery, but no weapon was seen.


Law Enforcement in Vermilion County, Illinois are searching for Edwards after he fled from police in a stolen vehicle late last night. Edwards had crashed the vehicle in a field near Danville, and then fled on foot.

He hasn’t been caught yet and residents in the Danville area are asked to remain vigilant and lock all doors to cars and homes.

Edwards is considered armed and dangerous.
