Highly intoxicated man says he was carjacked, MSP not sure if the report is valid

 


ROYAL OAK — Saturday evening, around 6:45pm, a Michigan State Police trooper was flagged down in the area of 8 Mile Road and Wyoming by a man who was very intoxicated.


The male told the Trooper that he was carjacked in the parking lot of a Burger King nearby.


Troopers tried to get more information, but the man was so highly intoxicated to the point where he couldn’t provide his address or phone number to troopers, and he basically incoherent.


The man was taken to a Royal Oak hospital for alcohol treatment and minor cuts and bruises.


A few hours later, troopers went to speak with the man and were told that two black males carjacked him and that the victims handgun was inside of the car.


He then told troopers that he wasn’t sure if his vehicle was taken.


Troopers entered the information into their database and will try to speak with the man after he sobers up.


As of now, troopers have no leads on the incident and are still trying to determine if a crime actually occurred.
