Detroit Police Officer, Suspect killed after officer-involved shooting

 

Update: Both the suspect and officer have been pronounced deceased.

DETROIT — Detroit Police are working the scene of an officer-involved shooting that left both the suspect and an officer shot, near 14725 Joy Road.

The officer has been rushed to Sinai Grace Hospital in critical condition. The officer sustained a gunshot wound to the neck.

The suspect was also shot and is in an unknown condition. Police recovered a possible AK-47 on scene.

Michigan State Police is assisting and the public is asked to stay clear of the area.
