Stolen truck out of Chesterfield linked to attempted ATM robbery, police chase on I-75; Suspects still on the run

Brownstown Twp — At 5:42am on June 11, Brownstown Township Police responded to a Chase Bank on reports from the business that several men were attempting to break into an ATM with a very large excavation machine.

After doing a tremendous amount of damage to the ATM machine, the suspects ditched the plan and fled the scene shortly before police arrived.

Police quickly got surveillance video and was able to determine that the truck that the suspects fled in was stolen out of Chesterfield Township.

Police located the truck on NB I-75, and a vehicle pursuit ensued from Brownstown Township all the way to southwest Detroit. The truck reached speeds in excess of 100MPH.

The two suspects fled the vehicle on foot near Vernor Highway and Cabet Street.

Police determined that it was too dangerous to continue a foot pursuit through the backyards, so Lincoln Park K-9 assisted, but was unable to locate the suspects.

The suspects remain on the run. Police have notified all nearby departments and say that detectives have good information on both suspects.

There is no further details on this incident.
